“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

- Joshua 1:9

Have you ever felt afraid that you are not prepared for a situation, or the role and responsibilities you have been given?

When God chose Moses to speak with the Pharaoh and to lead the people of Israel out of the grips of slavery, Moses repeatedly doubted his ability and pleaded to God to let someone else represent. Moses said, "Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?"

Yet God did not waver and reassured Moses that He is with him, and will be there to support Moses. He allowed others that can help Moses such as Aaron to assist, but ultimately still put Moses in a position of leadership because Moses was the right person for the job.

God sometimes puts us in difficult situations that we may feel we cannot handle, but God knows we can for He is with us. These are opportunities for growth, and moments where we learn to rely on our Father in heaven. These are the times when our faith is strengthened, we learn to trust God, and we learn to be courageous.

In these moments, should you feel uncertain, know that leaders before you did also, and proceed confidently. God is with you.

Reflection: Are there things you are afraid to do because it is outside of your comfort zone? Is God calling you to proceed anyway? Pray for courage and use this as an opportunity to exercise your faith.
