“So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.”

- Romans 8:6

Our struggles with sin can sometimes seem like a daily battle. No matter how hard we try, we can sometimes fall into our bad habits and wrongdoings. Why do we feel so consumed by sinful thoughts? Why do we feel controlled by them?

Already, we know what we ought to do, and what we must not, and yet we yield to our cravings and sinful nature. Too often, we rely on our own strength and our own will, which can be weak. Following the Spirit is a choice we have to make, and it is through reliance on God that we can find light, love, and peace.

Acknowledging that Christ lives within us is powerful. We are not alone, and knowing that Christ can work through us, we, too, can turn away from our sinful nature. By letting our lives, our mind, our bodies by controlled by the Spirit of God, we please God and we find life.

Reflection: Reflect on the sinful ways, bad habits, or wrongdoings that you are struggling with. Pray to allow the Spirit of God take control and help you find life and peace in your walk of life.
